I will be performing alongside another Nottingham poet – Michelle ‘The Mother’ Hubbard. Come down for a great night of music and words.
8PM Start.
Entrance: £2.00
The next Speech Therapy will be a proper ‘anti royal wedding’ party, held on the eve of the sorry arse licking event in question. This will be a real celebration of real talent, not talentless, vapid, overpaid distractions. Dig out your old punk t shirts and come and have a rant. A prize for the best anti Will and Kate poem!
Featuring Joe Coghlan and John Marriott
I will be hosting.
I will be releasing my first collection of poetry through the brilliant Crystal Clear Creators, next summer. The working title for the collection will be Jim Beam Jesus and will focus on the savagery, chaos and beauty of the forgot towns and inner cities I have lived in and around all my life. I hope the work will have Nottingham and its people squarely at its heart.
I will be hosting, organising and performing at this marvellous event, which will also feature the fabulous Tim Bombdog and John Humphrys. Again, the event is free and open mic slots will be available. First come, first served.
See you there

Was interviewed today for a forthcoming documentary on the ‘Bard of Salford’ John Cooper Clake. The film will be called ‘Evidently – John Cooper Clarke’ (well, what else?) and it will feature contributions from folks like Billy Bragg, Pete Shelly (of Buzzcocks fame), Peter Hook from New Order, as well as the great man himself and will be released sometime in the near future.

Had a smashing time performing at Nottingham Playhouse this evening, was all part of Mouthy Poets – a brillaint young artists set up by the fantastic Deborah ‘Debris’ Stevenson, who incedentially is one of my featured acts act this Thursday’s Speech Therapy also featuring Aly Stoneman. Any road my set was quite short, due to other commitments, but here it is in full – thanks to the good people at You Tube
Performed at The Maze the other day, alongside the legendary Mark Gwynne Jones. Was an awsome night. Really enjoyed Mark’s set, particularly ‘Office Man’ and ‘David Starkey’. Mark happens to be, (as well as a great poet) a very nice bloke and I look forward to meeting and seeing him perform again soon and cannot reccommend his act strongly enough. I had a throughly good time performing and felt welcomed and apprciated by the lovely crowd that had been sqeezed into the fantastic venue.
I was also offered a regular gig with the quarletly DIY poets night at The Maze, so am looking forward to some great nights ahead.
Will be hosting, performing, compering and organising this brand new regular spoken word night. Aly Stoneman and Deborah ‘Debris’ Stevenson will be the featured acts, and open mic slots will be avaiable. 8pm kick off.
